About our speaker:
Julie
founded the New Zealand Musical Parenting Association twenty two years
ago. She is the founder and senior music specialist at the Champion Centre, at
Burwood Hospital, Christchurch, New Zealand.
Julie has been invited to many
countries to present music workshops and papers including Korea, Japan,
Singapore, Australia, UK, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland.
She has received
awards for her music leadership and her music resources have won international
awards.
Julie also has her own music school for mothers and babies and children
0-8 years.

PUPPET FESTIVAL RUN DOWN
Here's some interesting facts & figures:
- The Festival ran for 3 days (Friday-Sunday)
- 770 people paid to see shows at $2 per head.
- At least another 100 under 2 year old attended free.
- 32 people attended 3 free workshops.
- 9 puppet troupes or solo performers
presented 18 shows.
- 2 performers traveled from Auckland and
Wellington respectively;y to participate in the Festival.
- Free pre-show puppet entertainment was
presented at most shows.
- 2 Family Nights were held, 1 to a full house
at St Luke's Church, South Brighton.
- 3 shows were presented at each Family Night.
- There were 4 full houses over the Festival.
Volounteers manned the door. Total Volunteer
hours for the Festival (including specific rehearsal time) approx. 259 hours.
To sum up, the Festival is popular,
creative, wholesome and a significant contributor to community life, and
achieves the aims of promoting puppetry and supporting and encouraging
puppeteers.
